Calling Dr. Zak is the second segment of the fourth episode of the first season of Dragon Tales.

Summary[]

Zak and Wheezie are practicing their dance for the Dance Contest, but Zak gets a thorn stuck in his foot after accidentally stepping on a spiny pine while practicing and is scared of going to the doctor to get it taken out, since he thinks it will hurt. It's up to the rest of the gang to try to get Zak on getting used to go to the doctor and getting the thorn taken out of his foot to be able to attend and win the Dance Contest.

Plot[]

The episode begins when Emmy and Max get their instruments in Dragon Land to play for Zak and Wheezie. They dance to a dragon version of "This Old Man". While practicing, Zak steps on a spiny pine and gets a thorn stuck on his foot, After numerous attempts to go to the doctor, Zak finally got to go to the doctor to get his thorn removed by Dr. Booboogone, and she directed him to squeeze Wheezie's hand as hard as he can, and Dr. Booboogone finally got the thorn out, and finally got back in the contest again, ending the episode. Meanwhile at the end of the episode Max and Emmy find out from their mother that they have a doctor appointment the next day for their checkup and Emmy and Max play doctor and patient respectively.

  • Emmy and Max are briefly seen frowning for a few seconds right as the wallpaper dragons begin flying around them.

Notes and Trivia[]

  • Moral: Doctors are there to help you and make you feel better whenever you get sick or hurt. There’s no need to be afraid of them, it's ok.
  • The song "This Old Man" had the lyrics changed to make it appeal to the characters in Dragon Land.
  • The music rehearsal scene was reused and mentioned in "Remember The Pillow Fort."
  • During the rehearsal at the beginning, the gang playing music is animated with a faster frame rate, being 24 frames per second instead of the usual 12 frames per sec.
