Plot[]

Emmy and Max are preparing presents for Ord. We see Max is still having a bit of trouble tying knots. Max's finger ends up getting tied to his present.

When they reach Dragon Land and see Ord, he's eager to tell them about his birthday, but they're very skiddish and tell him that they're going to a picnic with Cassie. As his friends continue to avoid him, Ord begins to wonder if they don't like him anymore.

Goofs[]

  • In "Ord's Unhappy Birthday", Emmy and Max thought Ord was Cassie, though they should have known it was Ord based on Ord's blue tail.
  • During the School in the Sky scene, the present Quetzal has wrapped has green wrapping paper; however, when he and Ord are walking back to the treehouse, the wrapping paper is light yellow.
  • Additionally, all of Ord's friends were wearing party hats when they surprised Ord, and Zak and Wheezie still had theirs on when Quetzal sliced the cake, but starting when Max holds out a plate for the first slice (before giving it to Ord), he and the unstuck girls are no longer wearing their party hats. Did they secretly take them off in between?
  • Sid Sycamore is introduced in this episode; however, the treehouse was already built when this event doesn't happen until Emmy's Dream House.

Notes and Trivia[]

  • Moral: Just because your friends are busy, you shouldn’t assume they don’t like you anymore.
  • This episode introduces the character of Sid Sycamore, a talking tree, who likes to laugh at his own lame tree puns.
  • During Ord Week in August 2001, "Ord's Unhappy Birthday" airs with "It Happened One Nightmare" as the first half of episode #108W
  • Ord's noticeably upset throughout the entire episode, yet nobody seems to really pay attention. Chalk it up to their excitement over the surprise party.
  • Although Max learned to tie a knot in "Knot a Problem", he has difficulty tying the bow for Ord's present. It is probably because he had been taught a different kind of knot, and the knot didn't come with loops like a bow.
  • The scene where Ord comes in and is surprised by the rest of the gang for a surprise birthday party was reused in "Remember The Pillow Fort."
