Dialogue[]

  • [In the playroom, Emmy and Max are making a mud volcano.]
  • Max: Ready?
  • Emmy: Ready!
  • Max: Here goes!
  • [He blows into the volcano through a straw, making it foam and bubble out the top.]
  • Emmy: The volcano works! Let me try.
  • [She blows, but nothing happens.]
  • Max: Blow harder!
  • [She blows harder; so much bubbles come out they splash all over her.]
  • Emmy: Ew!
  • [Max laughs as Emmy dries off.]
  • Emmy: Okay, enough volcanoes. Let's go to Dragon Land.
  • Max: Good idea!
  • [Changes to them holding the magic dragon scale.]
  • Emmy and Max: I wish, I wish, with all my heart, to fly with dragons in a land apart.
  • [The wallpaper dragons spin around them and they vanish. In Dragon Land, Zak and Wheezie are playing music on their scales as Ord and Cassie dance.]
  • Cassie: Ready?
  • Ord: Ready!
  • [Cassie breathes fire in time. Zak joins in, then Wheezie, then Ord, who falls back.]
  • Ord: Whoa!
  • [He hits the ground; Emmy and Max appear near him.]
  • Emmy and Max: Hi, Ord!
  • Ord: Max! Emmy!
  • Emmy: What you doing?
  • Cassie: We're practicing for tonight's fire-breathing celebration.
  • Max: Can we watch?
  • Ord: [takes out a beach chair] Of course! Sit here. [they sit in it]
  • Wheezie: [smacks lips] My mouth is so dry. All this fire breathing makes me really thirsty.
  • Zak: Ugh, makes my breath taste so smoky. I just need to freshen it up with a little brushing. [takes out a toothbrush and brushes] Brush the teeth. Your teeth. Your teeth. My teeth.
  • Wheezie: [looks up and sees a strange eggplant-like flower with dripping purple juice] Ooh, something to wet my whistle.
  • [She takes the flower and drinks down the juice whole. Zak finishes brushing.]
  • Zak: Ah!
  • Wheezie: Much better.
  • Cassie: Zak, Wheezie, come on! Let's try again!
  • [Zak and Wheezie resume their scale music. Cassie breathes fire, then Zak; Wheezie tries to breath fire, but nothing comes out and she only lets out a tiny spark and hacks.]
  • Zak: Come on, Wheezie! [music stops playing] Stop kiddin' around!
  • Wheezie: [tries to breathe fire, but only coughs] I'm not! My fire breath! It's gone out!...
  • Ord: Maybe you're blowing too hard.
  • Max: Or too soft.
  • Zak: [scratching his head] Hmmm... [Zak looks down and sees the empty flower Wheezie disposed of] Oh, no... [Zak picks up the flower realizing and couldn't believe what Wheezie had done.] Oh, no! You wouldn't! You couldn't!! You didn't take a sip from a Plump Gump Flower, did you?!
  • Wheezie: Hm?
  • Cassie: Oh, Wheezie, EVERYONE knows you need to stay away from those!
  • Ord: They make your fire breath go out!
  • Wheezie: AGH! I forgot!! [bawls loudly] What if I never breathe fire again?!? Never, EVER!
  • Zak: It'll be okay, Wheezie.
  • Cassie: Maybe we should go see Dr. Booboogone.
  • Wheezie: Great idea! What are we waiting for?
  • Zak: The doctor!
  • [She flies off, taking Zak with her as he screams. Ord and Cassie follow with Emmy and Max aboard. Later at Dr. Booboogone's cave, Wheezie is being examined.]
  • Dr. Booboogone: Hm. Well, Wheezie, I think you'’re right. But let's make sure.
  • [She takes a cotton swab as Wheezie opens her mouth; Dr. Booboogone scoops out Plump Gump juice from her gums.]
  • Dr. Booboogone: Oh, yes, my dear. Plump Gump juice. It sticks to your throat and makes your fire breath go out.
  • Wheezie: Will I ever breathe fire again?!
  • Dr. Booboogone: Don'’t worry, Wheezie. If you follow the instructions I'm about to give you, I promise your fire breath will return in no time at all.
  • Wheezie: Really? It will?
  • Zak: Uh, Dr. Booboogone, would "no time at all" include tonight?
  • Wheezie: We have to perform at the fire-breathing celebration!
  • Dr. Booboogone: Oh, I think you'll be fixed up by tonight. But you must follow these three directions exactly.
  • [She pulls down a sheet showing the instructions.]
  • Dr. Booboogone: Find the shell of a pink tree snail, trade it for a giant’s flute without fail, go to rainbow canyon and play the flute right, and then, only then will your fire breath light.
  • Wheezie: Done. Fixed, Dr. Booboogone. Thanks! Bye!
  • [She runs out with Zak dragged. Outside, the others wait.]
  • Emmy: You think she's okay?
  • Ord: I hope so-- [Zak and Wheezie come out; they knock them over.]
  • Max: Wheezie! What did the doctor say?
  • Cassie: Will you get your fire breath back?
  • Wheezie: I will! I just need to -- To -- Uh, something about a flute.
  • Zak: No, first you have to... To, uh... Oh. Something about a giant.
  • Wheezie: No, no, no, first I -- I-- Oh, no! There are three things to do, and we can't remember!
  • Emmy: Why don't you ask Dr. Booboogone to draw you a picture of each thing we have to do? Then we can look at the pictures to remind us.
  • Wheezie: [takes out a notebook] Oh, looooooove it! Be right back. [runs back in, dragging Zak]
  • Zak: Not again!!!
  • [Changes to the gang in flight later; they pass by the Stickleback Mountains. Wheezie examines the rules in the notebook.]
  • Wheezie: First, find the shell of a Pink Tree Snail. Trade it for a giant's flute

without fail. Go to Rainbow Canyon and play the flute right. And then, only then, will your fire breath light.

  • Ord: Hey, there's Sid Sycamore.
